Become an IB DP student!
Gymnázium a SOŠ Rokycany (G+SOŠ) is a state grammar school with over a century of tradition, offering both
four-year and eight-year programmes of general education. The International Baccalaureate Diploma
Programme (IB DP) is integrated into one of the four-year programmes and is taught in the final two years. It is
based on the school curriculum Inspiration and Knowledge in Context.
Our goal is to support the well-rounded development of each student. We encourage a love of learning, creative
thinking, and strong problem-solving skills. Rather than focusing on a single specialisation, we aim to help every
student reach their potential through an individual approach in a supportive environment.
The IB DP at our school is supported by a clear framework of policies, including the Admissions Policy, Academic
Integrity Policy, Assessment Policy, Inclusion/Learning Support Policy, and Language Policy, which guide our
teaching and learning.
Why choose the IB Diploma Programme?
The IB DP is internationally recognised and respected by leading universities worldwide. Graduates of the
programme are valued for their ability to:
- develop broad and in-depth knowledge

- communicate effectively in at least two languages (Czech and English)

- take on challenges thoughtfully and responsibly1. Students must achieve Level B2 or higher in English; a proof of reaching this level must be supplied as an appropriate language certificate.
Admission Requirements
Academic requirements (internal and external applicants)
- A minimum English level of B2 (CEFR), demonstrated by an appropriate certificate
- At least a grade “2” in subjects chosen for Higher Level (HL) study
- A reference from at least one teacher (external applicants)
- Participation in an interview demonstrating alignment with the school’s values
- Applicants who do not fully meet the requirements may take Individual Subject Admission Tests (ISAT) administered by the school
